Onas' Place

Our Purpose

We service special needs individuals who are in need of residential placement and/or community support.  The symbol of our service is the violet.  This was chosen because the characteristics of the violet are exemplified in the services that we provide

The Flower

Just like each of our clients the bloom of the violet is beautiful , unique, and fragile.  We consciously reaffirm to them that they are beautiful individuals that offer something special to the world.  reinforcing that each of us has a purpose on earth.  We also handle them with care because so many times they come from backgrounds that have fostered a broken spirit that we aim to strengthen.

Our Color

Purple, is the color that depicted royalty during ancient civilizations.  With this in mind all of our clients are viewed as Kings and Queens in their own right because they are the center of their personal universe, and we cater to them in that fashion.  Their needs and desires are taken seriously and considered in every aspect of their care.

The Plant

The violet plant itself is a strong plant that supports the bloom, just like our community support staff.  Our Staff members are caring, certified individuals that are are required to view their service to our clients as a priority.  We believe that our clients are an important segment of society that should receive.  Respect, Resources, and Responsible Care.

Residentail Placement

Our clients are placed in safe and nurturing environments.  We understand that there is no place like home, however it is our goal to provide the next best thing to a perfect home.  All residential sights include a space that each client can call their own and know that they have a personal oasis to retreat to when they are having a challenging day.   All applicable State codes are abided by in each residence to ensure the safety and comfort of our clients.  Because a Drug Free Work Place is a policy of Onas' Place, all of our homes follow suit.

Many of our clients have come from unstable environments.  Because of this it is important to us that our homes do not just provide housing, they provide a family atmosphere where clients feel like they belong and are loved.

Community Support

The community support that we supply to our clients is tailored to fit their specific needs.  We couple them with certified workers that understand, respect, and cater to the special needs that need to be addressed.  Our staffs are trained according to North Carolina Standards and are requred to be caring and considerate of a valuable contribution to society through their existence.  We do not provide a sedentary adult day care or babysitting service.  We provide a service that promotes mobility and creativity.  Services offered to our clients by partnering agencies and private sector establishments include but are not limited to physical fitness programs, msuic lessons, riding lessons, field trips, educational encrichment, and employement opportunities.
